As of November 3, 2026, these popular games support full crossplay between PC, PlayStation and Xbox: Fortnite, Rocket League, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, Battlefield 6, ARC Raiders, Helldivers 2, Dead by Daylight, THE FINALS and Marathon. Fortnite, Rocket League, Overwatch, Dead by Daylight and Warframe add Switch, and Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 add Switch 2. VALORANT is the big exception: it has crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox, but never with PC. Elden Ring Nightreign and GTA Online have none between PC and consoles.
We checked official support pages, publisher FAQs, patch notes, Steam store listings and official wikis between October and November 3, 2026. Platform lists come from store listings and Wikipedia infoboxes. A cell we could not confirm says "Unverified" instead of a guess, and rules that rest on old pages are flagged below. Rules change often, so check in-game settings before you buy.
The crossplay table
How to read it: "Crossplay" is matchmaking across platform families. "Full" means PC and consoles mix, "Partial" means some platforms are cut off, "Console only" means PlayStation and Xbox mix but PC does not. "Cross-progression" means one account carries progress between platforms. "N/A" means the question does not apply, usually because the game is PC only.

Notes on the table
- Fortnite: Epic says crossplay can be turned off on PlayStation and Xbox but not on Switch, PC or mobile. Progress and most purchases follow your Epic account, but V-Bucks bought on Nintendo Switch stay on Switch.
- Apex Legends: EA's help says you can disable crossplay on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2 but not on PC. EA shut down the original Switch version on August 4, 2026, and its cross-progression page now lists PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2. Apex Legends Mobile was a separate game and closed in 2023.
- Call of Duty and Warzone: Modern Warfare 4 launched on October 23, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, not on PS4 or Xbox One, and Activision ends Warzone on PS4 and Xbox One when Season 1 starts. Progress lives on your Activision account. Activision's last official toggle page we found is for Black Ops 6 (consoles can disable crossplay, Steam and Battle.net cannot); for Modern Warfare 4, only press guides describe the same split, with On, Console Only and Off on consoles. Activision has not said whether Warzone itself runs on Switch 2, hence "Unverified". Warzone Mobile shut down on April 17, 2026.
- VALORANT: Riot's console guide says crossplay covers Xbox and PlayStation, not PC. Riot's wiki says it is on by default. VALORANT Mobile is a separate game released only in China.
- Marvel Rivals: It is not on any Switch: a Switch 2 version is in development with no date. The unranked toggle and the console-only ranked crossplay come from a 2024 developer post, so they may have changed. The 2025 cross-progression Q&A lists Epic, Steam, Loading Bay, PlayStation and Xbox and says battle data is tracked per device.
- Overwatch: Blizzard dropped the "2" from the name in February 2026, and the Switch 2 version arrived on April 14, 2026. The rule that only console players can opt out of crossplay dates from Blizzard's 2021 crossplay announcement.
- Helldivers 2: Arrowhead's patch notes refer to the in-game crossplay setting, for example a fix for friend codes missing "when crossplay was disabled".
- Minecraft: Only Bedrock does crossplay. Java plays with Java on Windows, macOS and Linux, and Java and Bedrock cannot join each other.
- Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom's FAQ says saves cannot be shared between platforms. The Switch 2 version is due on December 4, 2026, with online crossplay announced.
- EA SPORTS FC 26: EA's help says crossplay covers PC, PlayStation and Xbox, grouped by console generation, while Switch and Switch 2 do not crossplay. Cross-progression stays inside one platform family, not PlayStation to Xbox.
- Path of Exile 2: Grinding Gear Games promised full crossplay and cross-progression. Player reports on the official forum say PlayStation purchases do not follow you to PC or Xbox, hence "Partial".
- Recent ports: Valheim 1.0 (September 9, 2026) added PlayStation 5 and Switch 2, and Iron Gate's patch notes treat crossplay as working across all platforms. Warframe reached Android worldwide on February 18, 2026. Sea of Thieves on PlayStation 5 shares progress through a linked Microsoft account, per Rare.
- Older or unsettled rules: Deep Rock Galactic's only source is a 2022 Xbox Wire post (Xbox and Microsoft Store PC play together, Steam and PlayStation are outside). PUBG's old console crossplay page says console players do not meet PC players. Enshrouded 1.0 launched on PC and PS5 on October 15, 2026 with no crossplay yet. Re-Logic's October 2026 State of the Game says Terraria's "Crossplay Phase One" is close but not released, and Stardew Valley's wiki allows only PC with PC and mobile. War Thunder's Xbox opt-out dates from 2018.
How crossplay accounts work
Crossplay almost always rides on a publisher account, not your console account. That account carries your friends and progress:
- Epic account: Fortnite and Rocket League. In Rocket League you pick a primary platform, and its Rocket Pass progress, rank and level carry over to your other linked platforms, while credits stay tied to each platform.
- Activision, Ubisoft, EA and Riot accounts: Call of Duty requires an Activision account to log in online. Rainbow Six Siege shares Operators, Battle Pass progress and R6 Credits through Ubisoft. Apex Legends progress belongs to the EA Account. VALORANT console and PC use the same Riot account, with separate ranks.
- Battle.net, Embark ID and Bungie accounts: Overwatch stores progress on Battle.net, THE FINALS and ARC Raiders use an Embark ID, and Marathon cross-save links platforms to a permanent Bungie profile.
- Microsoft account: the thread for Minecraft Bedrock.
Each platform usually needs its own copy of the game. Marathon, Final Fantasy XIV and Ubisoft say so explicitly.
Console vs PC: input pools and ranked
Fairness is why many games limit crossplay. What publishers document:
- Overwatch: Blizzard's account merge FAQ says competitive skill rating is separated by PC and console input pools.
- VALORANT: Riot decided not to implement console and PC crossplay, and not to allow mouse and keyboard on console, citing competitive fairness and anti-cheat.
- Rainbow Six Siege: console players who turn on crossplay join PC matchmaking for Ranked, with a PC rank separate from their console rank.
- Marvel Rivals: battle data, rank and leaderboard are tracked per device.
We did not find an official page that quantifies aim assist differences, so we do not rank games on it.
How to turn crossplay off
Turning it off means a smaller pool and longer queues: you only meet players on your platform who also turned it off.
- PlayStation: use the in-game setting. In Fortnite it is Settings, Account and Privacy, Gameplay Privacy, Allow Cross Platform Play. In Apex Legends, EA says to open Settings in the lobby and set Cross Platform Play to Disabled. We did not find a system-wide PlayStation switch in the pages we checked.
- Xbox: same in-game toggles, plus a console-wide privacy setting. Rockstar's support pages name it "You can join cross-network play" under Xbox privacy and online safety. Setting it to block affects every game, not just one. Fortnite has no in-game toggle on Xbox: Epic sends you to this setting.
- Nintendo Switch: use the in-game setting where one exists. Fortnite offers none on Switch, and Warframe offers one in its Options menu.
- PC: most games do not let you opt out: Fortnite, Apex Legends, Overwatch, Call of Duty on Steam and Battle.net, and Battlefield 6 (EA says the setting shows only on consoles). Rocket League, Baldur's Gate 3, Warframe and Dead by Daylight do include a toggle.
Cross-progression, explained
Crossplay is who you can play with. Cross-progression is whether your levels, unlocks and sometimes purchases follow you from one platform to another. A game can have one without the other: Helldivers 2 has full crossplay but, per the Helldivers wiki citing Arrowhead support, no cross-save of any kind, while Monster Hunter Wilds has crossplay but Capcom says save data cannot be shared.
Before you commit to a platform, link the publisher account first, and know that merging can be permanent: Dead by Daylight's FAQ says you cannot unsync platforms once synced, and Marathon permanently deletes the progress you do not pick when two platforms conflict. Switch currency in Fortnite and Overwatch stays on Switch.
Find people to play with across platforms
Crossplay makes the pool bigger, but you still need people. In-game party finders, Discord and subreddits work, and our list of the best LFG Discord servers in 2026 shows where to post. FAQ
Is VALORANT crossplay?
Only between PlayStation and Xbox. Riot's console guide says console players cannot face PC players, and ranks are separate per platform.
Is Minecraft crossplay between Java and Bedrock?
No. Java and Bedrock use different servers. Bedrock Edition does crossplay across Windows, Xbox, Switch, PlayStation and mobile, while Java only plays with Java on Windows, macOS and Linux.
Is Fortnite crossplay?
Yes, across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and mobile, tied to your Epic account. You can turn it off on PlayStation and Xbox but not on PC, Switch or mobile, and some modes may then only work in Solo.
Is Call of Duty crossplay between PC and console?
Yes. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 mixes PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, and progress lives on your Activision account. Consoles can turn crossplay off, Steam and Battle.net cannot.
Is Apex Legends crossplay on PC?
Yes, across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2, and PC players cannot turn it off. Console players can, but EA recommends against it because queues get longer. Cross-progression works once each platform account is linked to an EA Account.
Is GTA Online crossplay?
Not between PC and console. Rockstar's support pages say crossplay only applies between PC platforms such as the Rockstar launcher, Steam and Epic, and profiles cannot move between console and PC.
