The 1.4.5 update arrived in January 2026, but the hard part has not changed: finding teammates who want the same run as you. Why you need a Terraria team finder
Terraria has no in-game group finder. Multiplayer means joining a friend's world, a host's world or a dedicated server by IP, so everything starts with already knowing someone. That is a problem when your friends stopped at Skeletron, or never bought the game. GameVerse helps you find the first teammates. The rest is agreed in the built-in messaging:
- Who hosts: one player's world, a dedicated server, or a modded server.
- New world or existing one: a fresh character with a fresh world, or a character that is already partway through Hardmode.

Build a co-op group around the four classes
Terraria classes are not locked: melee, ranged, magic and summoner are just the gear you choose. That makes them a planning tool for a co-op playthrough. A group that covers different classes can share the work on bosses, and nobody fights over the same drops. Agree before you start who plays which class, who supports with healing and buffs, and who builds the arena. GameVerse does not match on class, so this is a chat topic with your group. A search finds up to 8 players, which is plenty for a run through every boss.
Master Mode, Journey Mode and mods
Master Mode is the top difficulty, with tougher enemies, modified boss behavior and Master-exclusive loot. It rewards a group that has talked through its plan, and it punishes a random lobby.
PC players can also use tModLoader, the free modding platform that adds new bosses, classes and whole content packs (Calamity is the best-known example). Everyone in a modded world needs to run the same setup, so state the mod list and version in the chat before anyone downloads anything.
Platforms and crossplay
Terraria runs on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and mobile. As of late October 2026, crossplay between platform families is still not live. Re-Logic has said the next update (1.4.6) should be Crossplay Phase One, but no release date has been announced. Until then, say your platform in your search text and in your first message, so you only plan a world with people who can actually join it.
