LFM stands for "looking for more": a message from a group or party leader saying the team is not full and needs more players. The group already exists, and the poster is recruiting to fill the remaining spots.
It is the mirror image of LFG. With LFG, an individual looks for a team. With LFM, a team looks for individuals.
How players use it
- "LFM Valorant ranked, need 2, Plat+, mic required"
- "LFM raid, 6/8, need a healer and a tank, starting in 10 min"
- "LFM chill co-op, 1 more, any level"
- "LFM 3 for a five-stack tonight, Diamond"
Group leaders typically add the missing roles, the minimum level, and when the session starts. In games with roles (tank, healer, damage), LFM posts often list exactly which roles are still open.
LFM in practice
LFM posts are common in group-based games such as MMOs, extraction shooters and ranked team games. They work best when they are specific:
- Spots left. "Need 2" beats "need more".
- Roles or playstyle. Say what the party lacks.
- Requirements. Rank, gear score, language, mic.
- Timing. "Now", "in 15 min", or a time with a time zone.
If you are the one answering an LFM, reply with your level and role instead of just "inv". Group leaders pick the player who gives the most useful information first.
LFM versus recruiting for a team
LFM is for one session or a short run. A longer-term group that plays on a schedule is usually called a static and recruits instead of posting a quick LFM. If you want a regular squad, see /find-players, where you can message players who are online now for the same game and region.

FAQ
What is the difference between LFG and LFM?
LFG is posted by a player who wants to join a group. LFM is posted by a group that wants more players. The wording differs, but the goal is the same: match players with open spots.
Does LFM mean "looking for members"?
Sometimes people read it that way, and in guild contexts it fits. "Looking for more" is the usual meaning in party and group chat.
Where do I find LFM posts?
In-game group finders, game chat channels, Discord LFG channels and forums. Searching the LFG channel of a game's community Discord is often the quickest route.
