Best Discord LFG Bots in 2026: What Each One Is Good For

Raid-Helper, Apollo, Sesh, LFG Hub, TempVoice and the GameVerse bot compared for Discord admins: what each one does, its price and its permissions.

"LFG bot" covers very different tools. Some schedule a raid for Thursday night. Some open a voice channel the moment four people want to play. Some bring in players from outside your server. Picking the wrong kind is how a server ends up with three bots and a dead LFG channel.

We checked each tool below on October 19, 2026, from its official site, its pricing page and its invite link. We build one of them, the GameVerse bot, so we list its limits as plainly as the others'.

Scheduled game nights: Apollo or Sesh. Raids with compositions: Raid-Helper. Groups that form right now: LFG Hub or GameVerse.

Raid-Helper

Raid-Helper started as a World of Warcraft raid sign-up bot and is still built around that: members sign up for an event with a role or a class, and the organizer sees the composition fill up. It has a web dashboard and an overview of upcoming events. Premium is a one-time payment rather than a subscription, and adds custom templates, recurring events and logging.

Permissions: its invite link asks for a long list, including Manage Roles, Manage Events, Manage Messages and Mention Everyone, but not Administrator.

Limit: it is a scheduling tool. It shines for a raid planned three days ahead, much less for "who is on right now".

Apollo

Apollo is an event calendar for Discord: one-click sign-ups, capacity limits with an automatic waitlist, recurring events, reminders, Google Calendar sync, and attendees added to a thread. It says it runs on more than 300,000 servers.

The free plan covers 5 recurring events with one reminder each. Premium costs $8 a month or $72 a year, and Premium Pro, $25 a month, can post the same event in several servers with a single attendee list.

Limit: custom sign-up options and role-restricted events are paid.

Sesh

Sesh is the other big calendar bot. You create an event from one message and it converts the time for every member's time zone. It handles RSVPs, reminders, availability polls, attendee limits and waitlists, and can give a role to people who said yes.

Premium starts at $6.99 a month for one server, billed yearly.

Limit: recurring events, the backbone of a weekly game night, are Premium only.

LFG Hub

LFG Hub is the closest to classic LFG: /create-group posts a group with a temporary voice channel, with filters for rank, region and platform, role seats for games like WoW and Overwatch, and groups scheduled up to seven days ahead. An optional LFG Network sends a DM to players on other servers when a group fits them. Your channels never show other servers' groups.

The core bot is free whatever the server size. Server Plus costs $7.99 a month.

Permissions: the FAQ says Administrator is optional, but the "Add to Discord" link asks for it. Untick it in the authorization screen if you do not want to grant it.

Limit: the install base is small, about 500 servers according to its site, and the cross-server Network is on unless you turn it off.

TempVoice

TempVoice does one thing: a member joins a "create" channel and gets their own temporary voice channel, which they can rename, lock and limit. It is not an LFG bot on its own, but it pairs well with one: the group forms in text, then moves to voice.

Permissions: its listed invite includes Administrator, along with Manage Channels and Move Members.

GameVerse

The GameVerse bot works the other way around. Your members do not post in Discord. Players publish announcements in the GameVerse app, and the bot posts the ones that match your games and languages in the channel you choose. It edits a post when the group fills up, deletes it when the group is closed or expired, and its Join on GameVerse button opens the lobby, with voice chat, in the app. /lfg gives members a link to the announcement form with their game preselected.

It is free with no paid tier, and it asks for three permissions on one channel: View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links. It cannot read messages.

Limits: announcements come from GameVerse players, so a member cannot post one from Discord without the app. The bot's interface is in English and French only. It is also new: it went public in October 2026, so expect fewer announcements for niche games than for the big ones.

What Discord does natively

Before adding a bot, check what Discord already gives you. A forum channel with one tag per game is a decent manual LFG board, and Scheduled Events cover game nights for small servers.

Discord is also testing native LFG channels: posts with tags and a game invite card that shows while the poster is in game. In October 2026 the test is limited to a few servers, such as the official ARC Raiders server, and admins cannot turn it on yet.

How to choose

  • Your community plays at fixed times: Apollo or Sesh, depending on whether you prefer waitlists or time zone handling.
  • You run raids with compositions: Raid-Helper.
  • Your members want a group now, among themselves: LFG Hub, with TempVoice if you want voice channels managed for you.
  • Your server is too small to fill groups on its own: GameVerse, which brings in announcements from players outside your server.

Nothing stops you from combining a calendar bot for events with an LFG bot for the rest. If you have not set up the channel itself yet, start with our guide to setting up an LFG channel.

FAQ

What is the best LFG bot for Discord?

It depends on how your community plays. For scheduled events, Apollo and Sesh are the most complete. For raids with roles, Raid-Helper. For groups formed on the spot, LFG Hub or the GameVerse bot, which also brings in players from outside your server.

Are Discord LFG bots free?

Most have a free tier. Apollo, Sesh and LFG Hub sell monthly plans, Raid-Helper sells a one-time Premium, and the GameVerse bot has no paid tier at all.

Should I give an LFG bot Administrator permissions?

No bot needs Administrator to post LFG messages. Some invite links ask for it by default; you can untick it on Discord's authorization screen and grant only what the bot's documentation lists.

Does Discord have a built-in LFG feature?

Discord is testing native LFG channels, but in October 2026 only on a few servers, and admins cannot enable them. Forum channels with tags remain the native way to run LFG.
